Stories of Giving: The Woman with the Envelope

October 8, 2019

Yesterday afternoon, a woman came to the Broad Ripple House. She had never heard of Joy’s House before reading our story the day before in the Sunday Indy Star. She read about our guests, our mission, and our campaign, and was moved to visit us. She brought with her an envelope and in that envelope was $1,000. She told us, “I want to give this to an organization that is making a difference.”

Her gift and her story overwhelmed us – with love and with deep gratitude that our community believes that the work we do matters, that our Guests and caregivers are important, and that we are waking up every day and working to truly make a difference in people’s lives.

To that thoughtful, generous woman, thank you. To everyone who continues to donate and fight for us, thank you. We hope to continue to make you proud.
