Friends of Joy’s House

A Friend of Joy’s House is an individual, business, school, church or other organization that coordinates a fundraiser on behalf of Joy’s House. We encourage our Friends to get creative and have fun with fundraising ideas!

Friends of Joy’s House have coordinated a variety of events over the years from benefit concerts to give-back days, from parking spot raffles to social soirées.

Funds raised through this program provide meals, activities, wish days for our Guests, resources and programming for caregivers, and scholarship fees to open our doors for families in need.

Friends of Joy’s House fundraiser examples:

Ann Galvin

Ann Galvin was a quiet force. She cared deeply about women, children, and those who were alone.

When she approached Tina after a speaking engagement in 1999 and softly said, “I want to donate to your scholarship fund,” we never could have dreamed that she meant every month for the next 25 years. And yet, that’s exactly what she did.

Because of our dear friend Ann, hundreds of families were able to receive services, education, and community at Joy’s House. Some of them knew her well – sharing meals, stories, and letters. Others never even knew her name.

We will never forget her. Thanks to Ann, we’ve never turned away a family for our adult day services. Thanks to Ann, we are the Joy’s House that so many people have relied on for this imperative care.

Ann, we miss you. Thank you for being wonderful you and may you rest in peace.

Ann Galvin, April 17, 1935 – March 25, 2024

In-Kind Donation

Between direct care staff, administrative staff, Guests, family caregivers and volunteers, Joy’s House uses lots of supplies. Plus, we serve an average of 50 Guests each day!

Games and puzzles, personal care items, office supplies and craft items are just a few of the items we need to care for these individuals throughout the year. Your donation helps us reduce overhead costs while we continue to fulfill our mission components.

We are currently in need of the following items:

  • Medical gloves (no powder)
  • Personal care wipes
  • Hand sanitizer

We keep our most current needs up-to-date on our Amazon Wishlist. This is a convenient way to shop that allows you to make a purchase and have the item shipped directly to Joy’s House!

If you’re interested in hosting a donation drive in support of our families, please contact us.
