Agape Mini Horse Visit Last week, Agape Therapeutic Riding Resources brought two adorable miniature horses - Sunny and Cici - to visit with our Guests at our Broad Ripple house. Sunny and Cici were super sweet and gentle and let our Guests pet, brush, and generally fawn over them for a few hours. They even did a cute little trot for us around the garden!
This type of animal therapy is proven to have a number of mental and physical health benefits. Interacting with animals can help to reduce stress, lower blood pressure, alleviate pain, and even expedite recovery from injury and illness. What's more - it doesn't feel like treatment. It feels like play!

8 Questions to Ask if a Loved One Is in a Nursing Home Guidance for Caregivers During Covid From AARP, a Joy's House Partner Helping a loved one make caregiving decisions and choices has always been challenging. The coronavirus made this decision-making process even harder, especially when considering long-term care options and nursing homes. And if a family member is already residing in a nursing home, there is still much to consider in the wake of COVID-19.
AARP Indiana wants nursing home and long-term care residents – and their families – to navigate this shifting landscape as easily as they can. If you, a family member, or a friend reside in a nursing home or long-term care facility, there are eight questions that must be asked of a facility’s administrators and management.
You can learn what eight questions are most critical and why here.
